Position Overview

A new and growing preschool in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a warm, energetic, and responsible Head Teacher to lead a classroom of 3-year-old children.

We are looking for someone who truly loves working with young children and is excited about creating a nurturing, engaging, and positive classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who wants to play an important role in helping build and develop a wonderful new preschool program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily classroom experience for a class of 3-year-old children.
  • Create a loving, safe, structured, and happy classroom environment.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate lessons, activities, crafts, and learning experiences.
  • Lead circle time, songs, stories, games, and interactive activities.
  • Teach basic preschool skills, routines, and classroom expectations.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, and developmental growth.
  • Help children develop independence and positive classroom habits.
  • Provide patient and attentive support to each child's individual needs.
  • Maintain an organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with parents regarding their children's experiences and progress.
  • Work closely with classroom assistants and provide appropriate guidance and direction.
  • Collaborate with preschool administration on curriculum, programming, and classroom needs.
  • Help plan special activities, projects, and classroom events.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and bring creativity and enthusiasm into the classroom each day.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Head teacher, preschool teacher, early childhood, daycare, or similar classroom experience is a plus.
  • Genuine love for working with young children.
  • Warm, patient, nurturing, and energetic personality.
  • Strong classroom leadership and management abilities.
  • Creative and comfortable developing engaging activities for 3-year-olds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and positively with parents.
  • Dependable, responsible, and organized.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with assistants and school administration.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of the classroom and daily routines.
  • Excited to contribute ideas and help develop a growing preschool program.
