Description
A Brooklyn-based school is seeking a dedicated School Guidance Counselor to join its student support team. This role involves working with students from early childhood through middle school, providing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral support in a collaborative and student-centered environment.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced in counseling and student development, with the ability to work closely with staff, families, and external providers.

What You’ll Do
• Collaborate with the Student Support Team to address academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
• Provide short-term individual counseling for students
• Lead small groups focused on skill-building and coping strategies
• Conduct psycho-educational evaluations and support admissions and academic planning
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and external providers to develop intervention plans
• Create and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Provide crisis intervention and school-wide support as needed
• Design and implement social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and programming
• Facilitate parent and teacher trainings and workshops

Requirements
• PhD/PsyD in School Psychology or LCSW preferred
• Experience with counseling, evaluations, and behavior planning
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Experience working in a school setting is a plus
