A residential group home in Brooklyn is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable Residential Support & Recreation Coordinator to support adults with developmental disabilities.
This part-time position combines household organization, resident support, and recreational programming to help create a comfortable, welcoming, and engaging living environment.
The ideal candidate is patient, creative, and personable, with a genuine interest in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and helping residents enjoy meaningful daily activities.
Key Responsibilities Residential & Household SupportHelp maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and welcoming group home environment.
Ensure resident bedrooms are tidy and assist with laundry, clothing organization, and labeling personal belongings.
Support residents in appropriately decorating and personalizing their bedrooms.
Assist with seasonal clothing changes and wardrobe organization.
Keep common areas organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Help decorate and prepare the home for holidays and Yom Tov.
Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
Work closely with residential staff to support daily routines and household needs.
Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities for residents.
Facilitate engaging activities such as games, music, arts and crafts, and group activities.
Encourage residents to participate in activities based on their interests and abilities.
Promote positive social interaction, inclusion, and meaningful engagement.
Build supportive, respectful relationships with residents.
Provide light supervision during recreational activities and help maintain a safe environment.
Coordinate activities and schedules with residential staff.
Help create a positive, enjoyable, and home-like atmosphere for all residents.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required.

Creative and comfortable planning and leading recreational activities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents and coworkers.
Comfortable assisting with household organization, laundry, and daily routines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
Training provided.
Must be able to complete required background checks and medical/TB screening.
