Position Overview

A growing behavioral services organization in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a caring, reliable, and professional Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct one-to-one services to clients under ongoing clinical supervision.

The RBT will follow established treatment protocols, collect accurate data, complete timely documentation, and work collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and the clinical team. This is a supervised position, and the RBT does not practice independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction protocols accurately and within the RBT scope of practice.
  • Provide direct one-to-one services according to established treatment plans.
  • Follow written protocols and clinical instructions consistently.
  • Collect, record, and report accurate client data during sessions.
  • Complete objective and timely session notes and required documentation.
  • Prepare materials and resources needed for client sessions.
  • Assist with delegated assessments, observations, or measurement activities as trained and authorized.
  • Promote client dignity, choice, assent, and cultural responsiveness.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients and caregivers.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, caregivers, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Promptly report clinical, ethical, safety, or documentation concerns to the supervising LBA/BCBA.
  • Participate in required supervision, competency activities, meetings, and ongoing training.
  • Follow applicable privacy, payer, safety, documentation, and organizational requirements.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and travel to assigned client locations as required.
  • Accept and implement feedback and direction from supervising clinicians.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the BACB required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to accurately implement established protocols and collect client data.
  • Comfortable working under ongoing clinical supervision.
  • Ability to accept feedback and implement supervisor direction.
  • Caring, patient, dependable, and professional demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assignments as required.
  • Required background, exclusion, health, and credentialing clearances must be completed before assignment.
  • Previous experience providing behavioral services, working in home or clinic settings, or collaborating with caregivers is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
Required Training & Onboarding

Candidates must complete and maintain all required training and credentialing, which may include:

  • Compliance and confidentiality training.
  • CPR and First Aid when applicable.
  • Required RBT supervision and competency activities.
  • Safety and incident-reporting procedures.
  • Documentation requirements.
  • Payer-specific training.
  • Additional training required for individual service settings or assignments.
Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, candidates must be able to perform assigned responsibilities at a child's level, transition between seated and standing positions, model activities, participate appropriately in client programming, and respond promptly to safety needs.
