Job Title: Prepared Foods Deli Manager & Community Ambassador
Kosher Supermarket, Brooklyn, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time
Must have some prior food management experience.
About the Role
Supermarket is looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded individual to join our prepared foods team and serve as a bridge between our store and the local community.
This is a unique dual role, part of your time will be spent working in our prepared foods department, and part will be focused on building genuine relationships that make local customers feel at home in our store.
Responsibilities
Prepared Foods
Oversee the following and ensure:
• Assist in the preparation, packaging, and presentation of prepared foods
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
• Help customers at the prepared foods counter with selections and recommendations
Community Ambassador
• Greet and assist customers, especially from the surrounding community, making them feel welcome
• Serve as a cultural liaison, helping customers find products familiar to them and introducing them to new offerings
• Communicate customer feedback and product requests to management
• Represent Pomegranate at local community events when appropriate
• Help identify products and flavors that would resonate with the different communities in our area.
What We’re Looking For
Strong communication skills
• Warm, outgoing personality with a genuine love of food and people
• Food service or customer service experience preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and a team player
Sunday - Friday, 50-55 hours a week. Wednesday and Thursday will be later night hours.
