Position Overview

A school in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a dedicated and engaging General Studies Middle School Teacher to join its educational team.

The teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality, age-appropriate instruction while creating a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, grade-appropriate general studies lessons.
  • Teach assigned subjects based on the school's curriculum and academic standards.
  • Develop lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials.
  • Create a structured and positive classroom environment.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and clear behavioral expectations.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate varying student learning needs and abilities.
  • Assess and monitor student academic progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and additional academic support when needed.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and classroom documentation.

  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities.
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Qualifications
  • Previous middle school teaching experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Teaching certification is a plus.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to develop engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
