Summer Camp Canteen Associate

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10a - 2p
Salary: $16 to $20 per hour

Food vendor is looking for an energetic and reliable individual to join our team as a Canteen Associate for the upcoming summer camp season. This is a perfect opportunity for a student or someone active looking to gain experience in retail and customer service in a fun, fast paced camp environment. You will be responsible for the daily operation of our camp canteen, ensuring that our campers have a great experience when they come in for their snacks.

The canteen is open for 2 to 3 hours daily, and your 4 hour shift will allow for plenty of time to handle the essential "behind the scenes" tasks that keep us running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily set up and attractive merchandising of snacks, drinks, and camp apparel.

  • Provide friendly and efficient service to campers and staff during peak operating hours.

  • Process transactions accurately using cash and internal account charging systems.

  • Monitor inventory levels and resupply shelves throughout the shift.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary environment for the next day of operation.

  • Identify low stock items and create reorder lists for management.

Qualifications:

  • Must be active, outgoing, and comfortable working in a high energy youth environment.

  • Strong basic math skills for tendering cash and managing account balances.

  • Ability to work independently and stay on task during prep and cleanup times.

  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • Reliable transportation to camp locations within Monmouth County.
