Wholesale Sales Representative (Off-Price Retail)

Location: Central, New Jersey (On-Site)

Schedule: Monday through Friday
Salary: $60k to $100k per year (commensurate with experience) plus commission

We are a leading housewares company looking for a superstar Wholesale Sales Representative to join our expanding team. We specialize in the fast-paced off-price and big-box channels, and we need a high-energy individual who understands the unique lifecycle of these accounts. This role is about more than just selling products; it is about managing high-volume relationships and executing the specific logistical and strategic processes that allow our brands to thrive in the off-price market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow relationships with buyers at major off-price and big-box retailers.

  • Navigate the end-to-end sales process specific to the off-price channel, including product pitching, price negotiation, and order finalization.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the housewares, textiles, or apparel sectors.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify "hot" categories and inventory opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely shipping and compliance with retailer-specific routing guides.

  • Prepare and present curated product assortments that meet the margin and branding requirements of our retail partners.

  • Attend trade shows and industry events to represent the brand and forge new connections.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the off-price or big-box channel is required for the mid-level role (Housewares, Textiles, or Apparel experience preferred).

  • A clear understanding of the off-price sales process, including buy-backs, closeouts, and private label opportunities.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with retail buying teams.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a "hunter" mentality.

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage complex inventory lists.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple high-volume accounts simultaneously.

  • For mid-level candidates, a documented history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in the wholesale space.
