Full-Time Administrative & Accounting Assistant
Location: Deal, NJ
Compensation: $20–$25/hour
Overview:
Community Deal Synagogue is seeking a reliable and organized individual to support administrative and accounting functions. This role combines front office responsibilities with accounts payable/receivable and member billing. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Manage phone calls and email communication
- Handle accounts payable and receivable
- Process pledges, memberships, and various billing (Aliyot, seats, lockers, annual drives)
- Prepare materials for Shabbat and holidays
- Maintain spreadsheets and financial records, including renovation-related tracking
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and general office operations
- Support additional tasks as needed, including occasional errands
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google Sheets
- General computer proficiency
- Punctual and dependable
- Must have access to a car
Schedule:
- Winter (Oct–Mid May): ~20 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
- Summer (Mid May–Sept): ~40 hours/week
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM–2:30 PM
