Accounting & Finance Associate (Tax Season Support)
Location: In-Office (No Remote Work)
Position Type: Part-Time (2–3 days per week)
Duration: February through April 30 (with possible extension)
Compensation: Minimum wage with rapid advancement opportunities

Position Summary

We are seeking qualified candidates in accounting and finance to support a fast-paced tax and accounting environment during tax season. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundational understanding of accounting principles who is eager to gain hands-on experience, work across multiple client files, and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

· Maintain and update client accounting records using QuickBooks
· Prepare and post accounting journal entries
· Work with both accrual and cash basis accounting
· Assist with bookkeeping updates and data entry for tax returns
· Prepare depreciation entries, adjusting entries, and year-end bonus accruals
· Review and understand financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
· Manage multiple client files simultaneously
· Identify issues independently and compile questions for review
· Support partner-level file management and administrative needs

Qualifications & Requirements

· Working knowledge of QuickBooks
· Strong understanding of accrual vs. cash accounting
· Familiarity with core financial statements
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Comfortable performing administrative tasks while learning advanced concepts
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
· Effective communication skills, including occasional client interaction
· Willingness to communicate with tax authorities (IRS, NYS, etc.) under guidance
