Position Overview
A preschool in Brooklyn, NY is seeking warm, responsible, and dedicated Teacher Assistants to join its 2- and 3-year-old program. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
The ideal candidate is patient, caring, attentive, and dependable. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with the lead teacher to support classroom routines, learning activities, playtime, meals, and the overall social and emotional well-being of the children.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, lessons, and routines.
Provide attentive care and supervision to children throughout the school day.
Help create a warm, safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.
Support age-appropriate learning activities, crafts, games, and creative play.
Engage with children during structured activities and free play.
Assist with meals, snacks, transitions, and other daily routines.
Help prepare classroom materials and activities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
Support children as they develop social, emotional, communication, and independence skills.
Observe children's needs and communicate relevant information to the lead teacher.
Assist with classroom organization and cleanup throughout the day.
Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other school staff.
Help maintain consistent classroom routines and expectations.
Provide additional classroom support wherever needed.
Qualifications
Previous experience working with young children is preferred.
Genuine interest in early childhood education and child development.
