Part Time: Mental Health Position Summary
Provide administrative support to psychiatric providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This role focuses on scheduling, communication, and general administrative coordination to support the efficient day-to-day operations of the psychiatric team.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Maintain and update provider calendars
- Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and other providers as needed
- Assist with processing patient requests (e.g., letters for schools, agencies, etc.)
- Maintain basic tracking spreadsheets for appointments and follow-ups
- Run routine reports as requested
- Support documentation processes in accordance with applicable standards
- Monitor controlled substance reports as directed
- Provide occasional front desk coverage when needed
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Skills & Education:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer and typing proficiency
- Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems (experience with AWARDS or similar systems a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to time-critical issues
- Professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Reliable and responsive
- Prior administrative experience preferred; healthcare experience is a plus
- Undergraduate degree or preferred, or undergraduate enrollment
