Brooklyn Synagogue looking to hire an experienced CFO to oversee the business office of 3 clerical workers involved in the management of corporate finances and reporting as well as operations and maintenance.

1. Position requires intimate knowledge of accounting and reporting principles for a not for profit organization. The CFO will be the primary interface between the Board and the accounting firm. 
2. Applicant must be capable to upgrade current CRM and reporting software to provide dynamic, real time information on operational expenses, receivables, collections and cash flow. Current systems in use are QuickBooks online and Shulcloud.
3. With over 250 part time teachers/rabbis/employees, this position requires experience in best practices regarding HR, time and attendance, benefits, PTO's and performance tracking.
4. The facility currently consists of the main building plus five other houses which will eventually be converted in a major construction project to become a large community learning center. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring the necessary funding is in place to support such an effort through donors and bank funding.
5. The CFO must look for ways to reduce expenses, reduce overhead while increasing efficiencies of current operations.
6. Operations and maintenance of the buildings is a major factor in the success of Shul in remaining the main center for weddings, parties and other religious affairs. CFO must oversee the staff and contractors to ensure that the environment is maintained in superior condition at all times. 
7. Work with the Board members to identify and introduce new fundraising activities.
8. Update, upgrade and maximize the use of the information contained in the donor database.
9. Work with the accountants, insurance brokers, banking representatives and consultants to ensure the holistic maximization of available funds.
