Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Litigation Department. This position provides administrative and operational support to attorneys and legal staff, helping ensure the efficient management of litigation matters and daily department operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
Organize, maintain, and archive documents for both active and closed litigation matters.
Monitor developments in legal regulations, court procedures, and filing requirements, providing timely updates to attorneys as needed.
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
Handle correspondence, manage emails, and screen incoming phone calls.
Assist with document preparation, filing, and organization for litigation matters.
Coordinate with attorneys, clients, courts, and outside parties regarding case-related matters.
Maintain accurate records and ensure legal files remain organized and up to date.
Provide administrative support to the Litigation Department to promote efficient daily operations.
Assist with special projects and additional legal administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
1–2 years of experience in an administrative, office support, or legal assistant role.
Experience working in a law firm or legal environment is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
